Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 10, 2026

1. Introduction

WAKARU.AI (“WAKARU,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use our social-media management and analytics platform.

By using WAKARU, connecting a third-party account, or otherwise providing information to us, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, organization details, and any notes or content you create in WAKARU.

When you connect a supported social-media or commerce account — for example Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, TikTok Shop, YouTube, Google, Shopify, or Stripe — we collect information that those platforms make available through their APIs with your permission. This may include profile or page metadata, follower or audience counts, posts, comments, engagement metrics, video and content performance statistics, order and revenue data (for commerce integrations), and related analytics.

3. OAuth Tokens and Credentials

To access connected platforms on your behalf, WAKARU stores OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens, and any other credentials required by the provider. These tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption (AES-256-GCM) and are only decrypted when necessary to perform a sync, import, or authorized action on your behalf.

You can revoke WAKARU’s access at any time through the connected platform’s own security settings or by disconnecting the account inside WAKARU. When you disconnect, we delete the associated tokens and stop syncing new data.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; to display aggregated analytics and insights; to generate reports and recommendations; to keep your data synchronized with connected platforms; to communicate with you about your account; and to ensure the security and reliability of the Service.

WAKARU is designed as a deterministic analytics and operations workspace. We do not use your data to train general-purpose AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. Third-Party Platforms and Their Policies

WAKARU connects to third-party platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, TikTok Shop, YouTube, Google, Shopify, Stripe, and others. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy, terms of service, and data practices. We encourage you to review those policies before connecting an account.

We only request the permissions and data scopes necessary to deliver WAKARU features. You remain in control of what you connect and can disconnect any account at any time.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, database, and security providers), and only under strict confidentiality and security obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data and connected-platform data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you disconnect a third-party account, we stop collecting new data and delete stored tokens. If you delete your WAKARU account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as billing records.

To request deletion of your WAKARU data, email us at privacy@iwakaru.com from the email address associated with your account.

8. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, restrict, or delete your personal data, or to object to or portability of that data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@iwakaru.com.

10. International Data Transfers

WAKARU operates globally. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and encryption, to protect your data when it is transferred internationally.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you via email or through the Service. Continued use after the changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Contact Us
